Dateq is a Dutch company that specializes in the development and production of professional audio equipment, especially for the hospitality and events industry.
Dateq Limiters
The microcontroller in the limiter continuously measures the input signal and attenuates the output as much as necessary to keep the maximum sound pressure below a preset value. Because the SPL limiters are not peak limiters, the dynamics of the music are not affected.
Both the input sensitivity (threshold) and the output attenuation (output level) can be adjusted on the SPL2. All connectors and controls can be sealed after installation, preventing subsequent adjustments.
The SPL3 has a measuring microphone so that the sound pressure of, for example, a live band can be measured. This makes the SPL3 ideally suited for live performances where the band brings its own equipment. If in live mode the sound pressure level exceeds the preset value, the limiter can give a warning to the tire (a flashing lamp). If the sound pressure remains too high, the limiter will give a penalty. It is possible to switch off the mains voltage by means of this penalty.
An enthusiastic audience is of course what every entrepreneur likes to see. However, this should not be at the expense of the music. The SPL6 is equipped with correlation detection especially for this purpose. The detection compares the music and the measurement. The public no longer has any influence on the limiter measurements.
Dateq Limiters with clock
DATEQ SPL2TS
The SPL2TS is equipped with a built-in clock. This makes it possible to set different sound pressure levels per part of the day. The built-in calendar supports up to 10 dates on which the limiter operates in 'bypass' mode. All these settings can be adjusted using the PC software.
DATEQ SPL3TS
The SPL3TS has a built-in clock. This makes it possible to set different sound pressure levels per part of the day. The built-in calendar supports up to 10 dates on which the limiter operates in 'bypass' mode. All these settings can be adjusted using the PC software.
DATEQ SPL5TS MKII
In live situations, the SPL5 MKII can be used to monitor sound pressure. If necessary, the SPL5 can switch off the mains voltage of the stage equipment. The tire can be warned in advance by means of a lamp. In a non-live situation, so the music is played over the connected PA system, the SPL5 is connected between the mixing console and the power amplifiers. The measured microphone level is used to determine the output attenuation.
DATEQ SPL-D Sound-Meter
DATEQ SPL-D2
The SPL-D2 is a sound pressure meter. This device can be used as a stand-alone device, but it is also possible to connect the SPL-D2 to an SPL5 limiter. The display consists of high-efficiency bi-color LEDs. This makes it easy to read from a distance.
DATEQ SPL-D3
The SPL-D3 is a sound pressure meter and logger. This device can be used as a stand-alone device, but it is also possible to connect the SPL-D3 to a SPL5mk2 or SPL6 limiter. The display consists of high-efficiency multi-color LEDs. This makes it easy to read from a distance. The color of the display changes from green, orange to red depending on the measured sound level.
